Mentoring

Oh, Fletch, come on. Think. If you are talking to me now, then obviously you didn’t die, did you? What you did manage to do was to change your level of consciousness rather abruptly. It’s your choice now. You can stay here and learn on this level — which is quite a bit higher than the one you left, by the way — or you can go back and keep working with the Flock.”  Jonathan Livingston Seagull

As a young teen I was inspired by Jonathan Livingston Seagull – his questioning, stretching, daring. Look for the learning in everything – fiction, non-fiction, writing, music and film. Every sharing is an opportunity to learn from the experience of others.

Be inspired. Expand your thinking.

Ambassador for Men’s Mental Health

MensLine Australia

The men in my life are exceptionally important to me – my Husband, my Father, my Brothers, my Sons – they make my life richer and I want to continue to have them in my life for many years to come.

In March 2016 the Hunter Institute published statistics for suicide in Australia for a five year period from 2010 – 2014.

In 2014 more than three times as many men died by suicide during that period than women. Three times – 2,160 men died by suicide, or 5.9 men each day.

Rates of suicide for men are highest in the 85+ age group, followed by 40-44 years and then the 50-54 years age groups.

Too many men are isolated and unsupported.
